| no partners | | I had wanted to do this trail my entire life. I can remember as a young boy staring at this trail on my topo maps, wondering what it was like up there. Although I've hiked on another part of the Mazatzal Divide, this was the section I wanted to see the most. On Father's Day 2006, I went for it. Although badly burned in many spots, it was still beautiful and amazing to me. I look forward to seeing this area's forests regrow, and to future visits. The Mazatzal Divide Trail is my Appalachian Trail; I would love to live among the high ridges and peaks of this area (if only I could). It took 2.5 gallons of water (hauled it all in) and a lot of determination, but I got it done! |
