My days worth of protein was highly unintentional. Other than that this was a really good local hike that you can put some distance and elevation on the GPS. We saw people at the trail head, at the Thumb and one or two people in between so isolation wasn't an issue. The weather was nice in the morning but I would not try this hike in the summer without enough water to swim in. No shade and no water source for 13 miles people and you can tell your kids it was up hill both ways. We got to have some lunch in the Indian Cave and explore the ever deteriorating Ogre Den. The views of the city were fantastic and you could scout almost every one of the surrounding hiking opportunities of the valley. |
