| partners | | This was our first hike on a 6 day car camping trip to the Sierra Ancha. The Grasshopper Camp was set up on top of a cliff overlooking Cherry Creek Canyon near the Billy Lawrence Trailhead. We drove to the Moody Pt trailhead from our camp in the morning for this day hike.
The trails to the off-trail starting point are in good condition with only a few new deadfalls. The off-trail section requires some route finding around clumps of manzanita but with a gps track to follow to our destination it was fairly easy. The views into Devil's Chasm are incredible and gave a whole new perspective on the cliff dwelling which I visited in February 2012. |
