Having finished hiking the entire Cunningham trail system, Nick, Chad and I continued on to Ash Creek trailhead. Nick and I chose to hike the Blair-Ash Ridge loop, while Chad opted for an out-and-back hike to Ash Creek Falls. Nick and I quickly climbed Webb Peak, where we scaled the fire tower to enjoy an outstanding view. I signed the register (which was in desperate need of a new notebook), then we continued down the long branch of the Webb Peak Trail. Going off trail onto Blair-Ash ridge, Nick and I waded through a sea of woody blowdown debris over to what I refer to as "Tramway Peak" to enjoy another superb view. The final stretch of ridge descent brought us to Ash Creek Falls, which was flowing quite nicely. Next up was the newly abandoned stretch of the Ash Creek Trail, which takes one past good ol' Slick Rock. Climbing out of Ash Creek was tiring and inspiring as usual, with its almost unreal scenic beauty. Back at the trailhead, we met up with Chad again and discussed our adventures. With the afternoon growing late, we decided to call it a day and began the drive back down to the desert country of the Gila Valley. Thanks guys for joining me and for a wonderful day of adventure! :)
