Mollie and I hiked Sunset Trail #90 today, starting from the area where you can also start Marshall Gulch or Aspen. We prefer to hike up on the way there and down on the way back. This trail was very hard to find and had a trail runner not come by to show us where to find it, we would have probably walked in circles. It does not have a sign, like Aspen and Marhall do. Instead, you have to walk away from the bathrooms and head towards the small parking lot (the closest one) and continue out the back of the parking lot. Then you veer slightly left and follow that slight path. You will cross the dry creek bed and then a trail picks up on the other side. Once you get to this point, it was easy to follow. I am posting a lot of pictures, so you can see what it is like right now up there. This was a pretty easy hike in comparison to the others we hiked. Don't be fooled though, there is definitely some uphill parts (see pictures). We probably could have done the entire hike in about an hour, but we stopped for photos and the amazing view, probably the prettiest we have seen. We passed a couple of trail runners with their dogs and even a group of mountain bikers coming down the trail. This is NOT a trail meant for bikes...at all! The middle area of this hike requires that you climb up rock stairs. I'm 5'7" and I had to stretch my leg up in some areas. It was fun though.
