| no partners | | The sandstorm had subsided somewhat, so Karen and I decided to try our luck at the Delicate Arch. This was obviously the main attraction, as it was the only place in the park I would consider crowded. The arch itself is amazing, but if it were not there the rest of the area is so wild it would still be a great destination. Endless patterns of stone shaped by wind, water, and time stretch in every direction, a maze of slickrock just begging to be explored.
The sunset was a dud, as dark clouds moved in, but just to have a seat in the presence of such a geologic icon made for a great memory. They should put that thing on a license plate or something. |
