THIS SEEMED LIKE A TOUR DE SUPERSTITIONS.. GOT STARTED FROM PERALTA AROUND 8:45AM...EASY TRAIL HIKING TILL YOU COME CLOSE TO THE CREEK BY WHISKEY SPRING. IT WAS AROUND 9:45-10 O'CLOCK WHEN A THUNDERSTORM ROLLED BY, RAINING A LITTLE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, BUT NOT TOO BAD. I GOT TO SEE PLENTY OF WILDLIFE THIS HIKE. ANOTHER DESERT TORTOISE, A TERANTULA FOR THE FIRST, SOME KIND OF NON-VENOMOUS SNAKE, AND SOME OTHER WIERD INSECT...AND THE LIZARDS MUST HAVE TURNED INTO FROGS..THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!!! THE CATCLAW LOVES TO GROW ON THIS TRAIL! ITS ALL ALONG WHAT SEEMS THE ENTIRE RED TANKS TRAIL AND A GOOD HALF OF WHISKEY SPRING. AND THEN AGAIN ON BLUFF SPRING. I WOULDNT CARE TO EVER SEE THEM AGAIN AFTER THIS HIKE... GOT BACK TO PERALTA TRAILHEAD AROUND 6:00PM, IT WAS LONG, AND I GOT A GOOD WORKOUT...IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICER HAD I BEEN WEARING PANTS INSTEAD OF SHORTS. STILL A GREAT HIKE THAT TAKES YOU ALL OVER THE SOUTHEAST ENDS OF THE WEST HALF OF THE SUPES.
