| no partners | | Saw that Barrett and Spiderlegs were doing this hike today and talked my hiking buddy Dan into doing the trail too, but with a later start time. I had hiked Little Jim in the past and enjoyed it very much. Just hiked Burro Flats a few weeks ago, which passes the base of Peak 3465. All I did was stare to the top of this peak from below and think, I have to get up there!!
Hike in was great! Ran into Barrett and Spiderlegs on their way back down Big Jim, great to meet you guys and thanks for planting the seed to inspire me to attempt this trail today!
Dan and I scrambled to the top of 3465 from the north side and returned via the gps track to make a small loop out of the very top. Views from the top were 360 degrees of outstanding. Makes me want to return to complete the trio of peaks to the south, which includes Pikes Pike.
Dan slipped and twisted his ankle pretty bad on the way back down Big Jim, but was able to return to the trail head with the assistance of my hiking poles. |
