| no partners | | For a little peak and a relatively short trail, I was pleasantly surprised. The decomposed granite being a bit more scenic than the volcanic tuff of nearby Thunderbird Park and Deem Hills. The flora was more varied and abundant as well, with some nice Ocotillo and Cholla.
I made the summit for the sunrise, then checked out the "Scenic View" spur from the saddle (not all that scenic).
Also hit the "Scenic View" spur near the trailhead that leads up to the little summit there, not bad for a short hike but the view was mostly of the surrounding houses. A good sunset spot with a bench on top in a pinch.
Only saw two other hikers in 2 hours on a Saturday morning - compared to my usual Thunderbird workout that would have included anywhere from 20 to 50. |
