| no partners | | I took my son on this one and 5 minutes into it, he finally got to see his first rattlesnake. He wasn't as impressed as I thought he would be, but it was less than 3 feet long and not very aggressive. Those are the best kind. There wasn't any water out there, except a few stagnant pools. Somebody has put up some homemade signs that I don't recall seeing when I was there 4 years ago. Who am I kidding... I don't recall ANYTHING from 4 years ago! Well... yes I do. Last time there were people shooting at us, but it seems that the shooters and their trash targets have been relocated.
The scenery is pretty good, once you get back in there, and the trail is mostly just dirt, so it's a nice break from walking on rocks in the Supes. Saw 2 groups of horse riders, but no hikers. You can't ask for more solitude than that this time of year. |
