| no partners | | Well, I finally found an expert Hike-Master to show me the way up the Sunrise Trail in the McDowell Mountains.
We started at the Lost Dog Wash TH and Madelyn guided me to the Sunrise Trail.
Prior to starting off, she briefed me on what to expect on the trail, and off we went. Soon Madelyn was looking back at me telling me to pick-up-the-pace as I kept falling behind. She eventually slowed her pace, so we could hike together.
Madelyn pointed out every plant that had needles on it and warned me to stay away. I did what the hike-master said and I prevented myself from getting ‘stuck’ by those pesky plants. She also demonstrated the correct way to throw a rock and hit a much larger rock. She never missed the larger rocks, but I struggled with a 50% ‘hit-rate’. Madelyn said I need alot more practice.
All in all it was a great hike, and Madelyn ranks as the cutest hike-master in Arizona. |
