| no partners | | This was my second hike today. The first hike took much less time than I thought, so while I was in the area, I did a short hike up Peak 3538 to find TOP Triangulation Station and its two reference marks. I then hiked off Pk 3538 and found TOP Azimuth Mark. All four disks were placed in 1946.
Peak 3538 is right next to Bartlett Dam Rd, ergo the short hike distance. The surveyor’s datasheet states that the azimuth mark is northeast, across the road and in a small ‘boulder field’. Looking out from the peak, I could see alot of ‘boulder fields’ to choose from. I lucked out and found it in the first set of boulders I searched.
I stumbled upon a summit log on Peak 3538, and I was the first to log in.
The little jar was put in place 2 years ago, by an 88 year old hiker.
That made my day.
Hopefully we can all ‘go-for-a-hike’ at age 88. |
