| no partners | | Another evening to night hike on Shantz Trail from Broadway. Headed south from there to the picnic area, then to the SNP road. Turned north as the sun started to set and headed back, all this in an effort to get in shape and to prep for an upcoming July PCT hike. Light flowers, perfect temps. Saw quail and jack rabbits. Heard elf owls and far, far off coyotes. Startled sleeping birds in a bush who in turn startled me. The moon was late to rise so I was off trail by the time it finally arrived. Lost 10 pounds in the last 60 days so these pathetic little hikes will continue to show up here as a testament to my efforts. So there!!  |
