| no partners | | My third time doing the Jug. Nice weather. Decent water flow.Pretty chilly in the water without a wetsuit. I nearly lost my camera by tossing to my buddy. It sank about 5 feet deep, behind a rock, but luckily I was able to spot it and dive down for it. Passed a group of 6 or 7 people doing a canyoneering class. Also came upon a group of 3 at the rappel. I seriously considered doing the cliff jump in, but decided the rocks were a little too intimidating. Overall, good trip.
*side note - I have been doing this trip with 200ft of dynamic rope, which gets very heavy when wet, and is a little excessive considering, but it's all I had - until today, when I finally purchased 50ft of true canyoneering rope, as well as a drybag.
*side note, episode 2 - we were actually going to do the 5 pools at Devil's Canyon, but the road just past the pond was occupied by a giant crane (equipment, not bird). Very disappointing, as the point as to do something new . But the Jug is always fun, at least. |
