This end from Naegelin canyon which turns into Haigler Creek via Clay spring which appeared mostly dry; whole area very pretty and shows quite a few nice camping areas. We drove the jeep trail to the corral then walked down the upper end. Lots of small rocks in the creek bed, where it got nice it was starting to thunder so we turned around. One pool I would have enjoyed swimming and had a fun ( sloping slippery) bypass.
We drove out and back toward Globe and car camped in favorite spot in the Sierra Ancha. An idiot had blocked a side road we use with a large extravagant camp right in the road. We found another spot, still great views. Some quad riders came up and one knew Brian, son of a man who knows these mountains well from 40 years or so back. Learned a few new things and a few more places to see.
Pretty good weekend and Brians' foot is hurting more but that is his fault. |
