| no partners | | Went from Second Water TH to 3/4 mile south of Willow springs and back in 8 hours in light mist--with snow visible on the Ridgeline. (13 miles total.)
The creekbed part was easy but would be difficult if water was flowing. Two thirds was small (< 3 feet) boulders the other third sold rock.
There are two long stretches on the bench that are well cairned. When you see 3 or 4 cairns across the creekbed--look for a trail to the west.
I wouldn't do this hike in shorts or short sleeves but no bushwhacking was involved. (If water is flowing, bushwhacking will be needed to stay dry.)
The trails from Parker Pass to the creekbed are a lot easier to follow than they were two years ago--well traveled with some cairns.
The worst part of this hike is having to do First Water to Parker Pass and back yet another time. |
