| partners | | We hiked from Charlotte lake to Rae Lakes and got a camp spot. Due to the storm the day before most people had left and we had a great selection. Kelly and John found us a great spot with awesome views. We dropped our packs, set up camp, and took a lunch break. Next we were off for a day hike into Sixty Lake Basin. The book said it was a pretty worn trail although not official. It may be from one end but didn't seem to be from the end we went in. It would be interesting to see how far we could follow it from the other end. John had pointed out that with Fin Dome in the middle it would be like using Weaver's needle and we would be fine.
We started off with some great views of Fin Dome and it just got better and better. Arrowhead Lake and Dollar Lake were very nice. We never were sure about the turn off but finally picked a spot. It turned out ok as we got to see a cool Bighorn Sheep. Once we got into the Basin it was lake after lake and view after view. Very cool! With the Fin we weren't lost just not sure of the exact route. We eventually found our way, thanks to John and Kelly. They both rock! We made it back to camp just after dark. It was a great day hike. I would say we got our moneys worth out of one day. Thanks John and Kelly, that was AWESOME!  |
