| no partners | | Wanted to do a new trail on my very first New Year's Day hike. Started to drive around 9.30 and noticed snow on pinnacle peak, troon mtn and Mcdowell's. Troon north area homes roofs had snow. Car tops had snow. Signs were covered with snow. Plants and ground too. Started to take pictures while driving like a tourist.
Got to the TH to find few people Temps are in low 30s. Instead of doing a new tr, decided to photograph cone mtn with snow. My body surprisingly moved fast though my hands were frozen to operate the camera. Did the loop ccw as I wanted to get to the northern side fast before the snow melted.
Snow started to melt and created lovely rainbow effects on water droplets all over the plants. Very fun to watch. Felt like I was in Narnia movie.
Ran into Jack rabbits today. Was able to photograph a couple. Dog barks at trailhead scared them off
Had to come back to pick up my daughter . Otherwise, it was hard to leave the place. Overall a wonderful hike.
Then I saw a rare statistic on the site. Screen shot it before it disappeared
Happy New Year everyone |
