This time it was in a remote location about two trail-miles north of Kentucky Camp, on a ridgeline with fantastic views to the east. The steel gate was just too narrow for pack stock, but the remote location and lack of ATV abuse did not warrant a super gate. Using a wheel-barrow and regular over-the-shoulder man power, the crew wrangled the two wooden fence posts, metal pipe cross member, wire and assorted tools a half mile from the vehicles to the gate location. Some design confusion and inattention resulted in a superfluous post hole—oops! But with plenty of help the posts were set and braced and the gate was strung between the new posts and the existing metal gate, allowing equestrians to easily pass through the fence.
Thanks to Tom, Lee, David, Steve, Gerry, and new recruit Aaron! |
