| partners | | | I wasn't totally set on finalizing a plan for today but figured me and Lily would start out with Skillpore's birthday group and then figure it out. I hiked with them until Battleship Saddle where they headed up to summit. Unfortunately that's not a peak a dog can bag so we decided to head down to the LaBarge Box for lunch. We explored a little bit and talked with some other hikers and then I headed back over the saddle. I had considered doing the whole Marsh Valley Loop but I've done that stretch of Dutchman a few time recently and wasn't really into it. I knew that Chumley and Bob were doing Yellow Peak so I thought we might luck out and run into them if we headed back the way we came. It turned out to be great timing because we ran into each other at the Black Mesa / Second Water junction. I hiked back with them, enjoyed a trailhead libation while Lily enjoyed the cushioned seat in my truck, and then an after-hike meal at AZ Wilderness. It was a pretty good day. |
