Temps in the 50’s were perfect for our hike in. As always, Bluff Springs Trail is a bit of a cardiac hill when you start cold. But, once we got to the top, it was smooth sailing and a super enjoyable hike to Dutchman trail and then down to LaBarge. Water running everywhere! Was fantastic to see (and hear) all the creeks running through the Superstitions. Ran into a couple from South Carolina and then a young man from Vermont who was on a multi-day from Kearny all the way to lost Dutchman park! Got to camp, hung our hammocks, got plenty of R&R and made a nice fire before dinner. Got down to about 35 before we hit the sack… errr, hammocks. I made an unsuccessful attempt to find Oak Spring… found nothing but a dry creek bed and TONS of catclaw… ugh. All in all, great and super relaxing overnight trip. |
