| no partners | | | Whew, spent the whole day tackling this beast with five other folks. The trail route I downloaded was slightly off, hence a lot of the running around near the final turn towards the Battleship itself. (The turn I missed has a pair of cairns atop two large rocks on the east side of the river (creek?). Immediately after these two cairns, the grade increases substantially, but not for too long before leveling out again.) Once we found the trail again, things were fairly straightforward. Climbing along the ridge was a blast and whoever left an American flag up at the top is a genius, because it really puts a nice cap on the trip when you can wave it around whilst hootin' and hollerin'! |
