I slept poorly at the campground thanks to some weird allergies to flowers that were not in bloom, and as a result I was tired Wednesday and skipped Ajo Peak, intending to return when it gets warmer. Instead, I drove the east loop, and then out to Quitoboquito Springs, broke my 10 month old Unshoe Sandals, and returned home Thursday after 2 nights in the Monument. It was nice, but I didn't hike as planned. I did learn the Solar Shower is pretty useless in winter, or maybe on overcast days, as Wednesday was cloudy for the entire day. It would probably be nicer to head back when warmer in April and May, and be a nice alternative to Catalina SP for me to visit in southern Arizona, if coming from further north. This is place is under heavy visitation from Snowbirds. |
