This is a little different track from previous post, avoiding the rock chute on the west all of the canyon.
The trail takes off from the Linda Vista trailhead. Take the left trail from the trail head, which splits off to the right after a short distance. You'll be on the south side of the wash as you ascend to the end of the Linda Vista loop, where you'll encounter a sign that states the trail is not maintained. Follow this trail which turns south and ascends the canyon along the west wall. You'll come to a junction of the trail about 0.1 mi beyond the sign. I took the right trail going up, and climbed the little rock chute near the saddle above the west side of the canyon. Coming back down I realized that there is a more direct route by following the trail to the left along the wash.
The trail ascends the canyon, crossing the wash from west to east, and then climbs steeply the entire way up to the summit of Pusch Peak. There are a number of false trails near the summit, but the main trail is pretty easy to follow. The views from the top are great, although it was a little hazy for me. You get a great view of Bighorn Mountain but it blocks the view of Table Mountain. You can see Mount Lemmon in the distance. Just south of Bighorn is a great view of Mount Kimball, and to the south you're looking right down Pima Canyon. Return by the same route. It is slow going because of the grade.
