The Saddlebrooke Hiking Club had our first club hike for 2017 on AZT Oracle Passage 13 to document the re-route completed last September, and to scout the trail for our upcoming club trail maintenance workday on January 18. The new 1.7 mile re-route avoids the hike on the rocky power line service road and adds about 0.5 miles to the overall distance of this passage from American Ranch trailhead to Old Tiger Mine Rd trailhead. There were several additional tracks recorded today and they are all in very close agreement on stats. Trail condition is excellent overall. There were 18 gallon plastic jugs of water stashed at the metal re-supply box in the next to the AZ Highway 77 culvert. This source is not apparent on the "water sources" list on either HAZ or the AZT Phone app. The re-supply box IS listed on the ATA site under water sources.
