| no partners | | I saw @mazatzal's triplog and pics of all the yellow on East End - and wanted to see it for myself. McDowells have been generally disappointing save for the Bootlegger trail and small stretches on Tom's Thumb.
And East End did not disappoint! Yellow everywhere that the eye can see - - good density -- poppies, brittle bush, marigold, goldfield. Throw in some fairy duster and lupine too.
Tom's Thumb from north TH still looking good - lupine starting to fade - but more little sections of poppies in the usual areas. Globemallow nice in a few areas.
TT was incredibly crowded today - to be expected with Spring Training, etc. There are 3 parking lot areas and 2 of 3 were completely full at 8:30am. Quite a few non-hikers out there. Saw Paul first then Phil doing MSC Pathfinder volunteering. Phil showed me a crazy pic of a diamondback swallowing a small rabbit. Morbidly gross - but fascinating! |

Wildflowers Observation Substantial borderline "extreme" in some areas. Brittle bush, poppies, lupine, fairy duster, scorpion weed.
Very dense yellow up and down East End slopes all the way to the basin and Windmill Trail. |
