I have been wanting to do this hike for a few years. JJ wanted to go hiking today and I talked him into this one. Good trail. Great views. We startled a large herd of elk near the rim. At least 50, probably quite a few more we didn't see. Saw various other wildlife including an osprey at the lake.

We hiked around Knoll lake mostly in the shade. We then back tracked back down we the way we hiked up. Temps were warm but never hot. Stopped by the hatchery for a quick tour after the hike, then on to Sal & Theresa's for a luch special of mexican food.
