| no partners | | | Vicky and I headed up to Alaska at the end of July for a much needed vacation. It began with a 3 day river float on our friends cataraft down the Chulitna River. We departed Talkeetna on the whistle stop train and made our way towards Denali NP. Various stops were made along the way to drop off another group of rafters and residents that depend on the train to get to their residents.It took quite a few hours to reach our intersect with the Chulitna but upon doing so it was a mad rush to unload our gear and build the raft. After the work was done the true enjoyment, relaxation, and isolation began. The next few days we drank plenty and soaked in the beauty only a wild river in Alaska can offer. We had amazing weather the whole time which offered astounding views of Denali. Saw a lot of Bald eagles and a black bear from the raft. It was an unforgettable trip with some great people! |
