| no partners | | Its been a while! Life has changed. Early last year I got picked up to be an Air Traffic Controller and spent 4 summer months at the academy in Oklahoma I passed and Vicky and I choose a facility back up in Anchorage, AK. We have been having a great time and enjoying all it has to offer since.
Soon after we got here in September a friend offered us tickets to drive the Denali Park Road. At the end of the season, the Parks Service holds a 3 day lottery for 400 vehicles to drive the 90 mile road each day. Through the summer Park Buses are the only vehicle shuttling tourists through the grand expanse. My friends loss was our gain.
On the day we went Denali would not be seen, but many of the Park's residents were out. The first snow dropped at higher elevations and the bears were in a hurry to fatten up. Bull moose were around in numbers as final battles of the rut finished up. The road was so alive with life you would swear they were pinned in so as to always be within view.
Alaska has be an amazing place to transition to since leaving AZ. It offers so many outdoor activities, even through the winter, that most weekends are being filled with a new adventure. Hopefully moving forward I can do a better job of sharing them |
