| no partners | | Busy work week so I didn't have a lot of time to plan a hike so the two we narrowed it down to was this loop, or an out and back on the Bear Flat trail, and decided on this one. Great choice. Hiked CCW, saw a single elk near the TH. At the campground at the top of Drew Canyon, instead of hiking the road, we stayed on Drew, then headed west on a old jeep route that took us to the General Crook junction. Took several side trips to check out the views from the rim off the GC trail. Crossed paths with 9 or 10 other hikers, and 5 mountain bikers.
We have penciled in Bear Flats towards the end of October. |
