Nice pleasant hiking along the Highline and up Drew. Some great forest through there. A lot of stately white pines, ponderosa and firs along the way. We lucked out with a few relatively deep mud puddles along the rim for Dot to lay in. The upper portions of See were excellent, but there was a bit of deadfall here and there. The trail started to feel pretty hot and humid for a bit and it dragged on some, as Dot and I waited patiently for her to get to some nice flowing water. The flowing section was a treat and Dot took several opportunities to cool down after that. A packed trailhead when we finished and a warm 86 degrees. Route Scout tracked a little high today, not sure why, but the miles seem high. We stirred up a Black Rattler along See. |
