| no partners | | I got off work at 7am and was meeting some friends to go hit some 4x4 trails near Vistancia. I arrived 30 minutes earlier than one of my friends, so I started to explore the area. On my way back, I noticed a flag on top of a hill with a few plaques close by. I still had a few minutes so I decided to hike to the top of this hill. After a short distance I came across the actuall trail and continued up. This hike was an unexpected surprise. The trail was named the Vietnam Veterans Memorial trail. ( I cant find any information online about this trail.) The trail is in great condition, and easy to follow. The trail continues another 1/2 mile after the flag. There is 3 or 4 additional benches along this trail. You get a great view of an old mining area.
I wasnt expecting the trail to go this far, so I had to double time it back to my truck. I was just getting back to the truck as my friends showed up. I wish I would have been able to spend more time on this trail. This trail is worth the small drive from the 303 if your in the area. |
