Overnight hike and camp with "Sparky", Fabian, and Paul and Steve Gerrish.
There was an unbelievable scene from "Lord of the Flies" when we cooked breakfast. We had to abandon our outdoor camp table and take refuge in our trucks just to be able to get a mouthful sans flies. Now where did they come from? Saturday night was essentially bug-less (moths on our Coleman Lanterns excepted), so why was Sunday morning "Lord of the Flies"???
We saw plenty of deer along FR410 when we drove out Sunday around 12 noon. I want to come back soon, starting from the Billy Lawrence Trail Head, to explore the Lucky Strike Trail and Gold Canyon. Lots of mining relics in this area I'm told...
