From Pole Knoll loop took Summit route - turn off at View Point -- found US Geo society marker at left of trail towards top. Great view of ski resort. GPS gave 9820 as peak at USGS marker. Not sure if that was really the peak though. Not many animals in July - only a few squirrels and a few birds. Trail was very quiet and very few users. Temperature was in the mid 70's.
