| partners | | | Even with warm weather today - mid to high 80's - this was such a nice hike. Started at the campground trailhead and enjoyed hearing the water as we hiked. Saw a tiny snake and several lizards and some squirrels with really long ear hair. Went the 2 miles to the split with the Mexican Hay lake trail and had on the wrong shoes for the steep climb of the gravel/rocks. But made it anyway and had lots of peek-through views along the climb. The wind was perfect and made the hot sun less noticeable. Ran into 4 people total in the 6 miles round trip. Wasn't prepared to go all the way to the lake - I assume there is a lake after the rains the last two days and hail storm last evening. |
