| no partners | | First trip up to the ruins at Devil's Chasm. This as much of an adventure getting there as it is actually doing the hike. The dirt road is rough...not necessarily rock crawling rough...but rough enough to slow down travel so as to not shake your teeth loose. Two hours travel time (roundtrip) on the dirt road portion of the approach.
A couple groups of hikers at the trailhead before we arrived. One of the groups may have beat us to the start, but we beat them to the ruins. Turns out they made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the wrong drainage.
Impressive ruins and a fun hike that requires a little work to get there. Tons of maples along the way, that had not yet turned color. Probably looking very colorful by now (T-day weekend). |

| This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee. |
