| no partners | | A quick, almost eight mile out-and-back hike from Lost Dog TH to Sunrise Tr, and then to about half of Andrews-Kinsey Tr.
We were the first in the parking lot at 7:55 AM, and we had a cold and very windy start. The trails were totally empty for the ‘out’ portion of the hike.
The wind cleared out all the haze that’s usually visible in the Valley of the Sun. However, once the wind stopped and it warmed up a bit, the haze started to return to the valley. More hikers came out to play also.
As usual, the Scottsdale preserve trails are in great shape, with just a few more rocks accumulated on the first portion of the Sunrise Tr. We also noticed a hint of erosion from our rains last week. No big deal though.
It was a nice morning hike with, “Mike - The Rehab the Hip” guy. He and his bionic hips did just fine. |
