Plan "A" was if pillow clouds filled the sky I'd hit up this lower elevation hike with hopes of an afternoon storm with shade.

Ugh... talk about bad ideas. Headed in and all seemed familiar from seven years ago. Turned around at the big bench knowing there isn't much to see after that point anyhow. Good thing too as the heat started getting to me soon after. Did get some shade from clouds moving in over the area. Several families with kids swimming, which would have been the wise choice.
