Guess I'll have to follow Hanks lead and hike this from the bottom up to figure out where #228 hits #217.
Going on information I have, the info Hank supplied and the FS information I don't have a CLUE on all the technicalities. The FS "Follow Trail 217 approximately 1/4 mile to West Webber Trail" presumably from the bottom. I have the photo of upper TH sign stating "West Webber #228" on the rim where this route begins. The FS says "Elevation Change: 400" where the heck do they get that from? Well it all makes sense cause they list it as 7200 to 6800, but where do they get that from? They also list it as 2.1 miles? The only thing I can figure is if a trail goes north at the post to hit 217 then that would be in the 1.75mi range and 6800ft. |
