| partners | | Ron bailed last second on this trip, so it was just me and Darrell. The Donahue Trail was very rocky, but since we started so early it was mostly in the shade. West Webber is still as steep as 2 years ago. Highline is mostly exposed to the sun with some shady patches here and there. No wildlife that we saw although Darrell says he heard an elk bugling early on.
After Darrell took off on the his spur trail up the Webber Creek trail I didn't see him again. I thought that I normally hike slow enough for him to catch up to me but apparently not.
Saw at least 2 groups (or just parts of one big group) of people hiking the Highline eastbound, all with overnight backpacking gear. |
