| no partners | | A friend and I hiked up the Abineau Trail to Waterline and back. There were patches of snow within a half mile of the trailhead and there was progressively more snow from there on. There was at least one avalanche this last winter that reached at least down to the fist crossing of the 2005 avalanche path. I think there is still 5 to 8 feet of snow in the gully above that in places. It is solid in most places. We did make a few postholes near the edge. It was slow going for us because of the snow and we were both recovering from colds. |
