Started a little after 9am, and it was nice & cool on the way up with a good amount of shade in places. About halfway in, I heard two hikers below us, and commented/joked to Celina that they were going up the hard way. A few minutes later, they saw us and asked if we knew where the trail was. Uhhhh, I'm standing on it. I said that if they could get up to where we were, it would be a lot more obvious. They grumbled a bit about wanting me to wait for them. I was like, Sorry, on a time limit, but you'll be able to follow along, we're not going fast. They did not appear to be novices, so I was surprised they didn't know where they were going, but I wasn't going to worry about them getting lost with the cars still in sight. They followed about a hundred feet behind for a few minutes, but seemed annoyed with us and turned around. We got to the top, looked around for just a few minutes, then headed back down. Weather had warmed up by then, but felt okay with the breeze and going downhill. I thought Celina would have been a little bit faster going downhill, but we made it down and back to the kids' school with ten minutes to spare, so it was fine. Didn't see anyone else all day. |
