| no partners | | I would essentially call this hike the Humphrey of RMNP. The stats are about the same and it has the same feel to it in some ways.
We got started around 6AM to a nearly empty TH, which is unusual for the Bear Lake TH. When we got back there were cars waiting in line for parking, and droves of people coming in on the buses.
The warm temperatures made for lots of snow melt streams crossing the trail up until treeline.
The final ascent from the summit of Flattop Mountain to Hallett is not a maintained trail, but it is marked pretty well with cairns. It would be hard to get lost up here on the divide.
From the top of Hallett, you get excellent views of Moraine Park and Longs Peak area. |
