The key for me is to hit the trail early. It's a higher trailhead but still gets warm on the bottom half this time of year. I hit the trail around 5:30. It was a little overcast with a slight breeze. Starting early kept me on the shady side for the first two miles. The next mile your over the saddle to the sunny side. Mile four and five are back on the shady side. The clouds helped me out on the summit along with a nice breeze. Mile two and four were the tougher miles with more climb than the rest. Nice landscape diversity. It gets greener and cooler all the way up with a few flowers here and there. The views were awesome. The trail is in good shape with no trees to climb over. This allows you to make good time on the way down after dragging on the way up  . This one was very enjoyable for me. :D
