| partners | | Although tired after the 11-hour drive followed by setting up camp, stretching our legs was by now almost a necessity so we took a short loop of the area surrounding our camp.
(The drive would have been under 10 hours had we not driven through the town of Dilkon as the "Southwestern Navajo Fair" parade was wrapping up. The parade was over but so many people were mingling in the road it took us a full hour to travel one mile through town.)
During our short hike we checked out an old corral, what was left of a covered wagon and and a camping trailer. The corral wasn't of much interest but the old wagon was... at least to the extent of how much cow-dung that small critters could fit in it.
The trailer appeared to have been stationery for a long time but appeared to be used off-and-on, although the gas grill, similar the old wagon, was filled to the brim with cow dung as well.
Back at camp we prepared for a night of complete solace and unlimited stars... and we got it!
Now THIS is paradise! |
