Wanting to change it up, I passed on Camelback tonight and went over to Papago. Parked over by the mini amphitheater and headed southwest around the northern butte. Great views of Phoenix and Tempe at sunset here. Headed over to the south butte and climbed up to the top. Quite an angle at some points but it was pretty easy to get up there. With a good viewpoint, I tried to scout a route up the higher northern butte. I made my way back down and headed back across the valley over to the north butte. Climbed up to a spot in between the ridges and thought I found a good route up to the top top, but the angle was too vertical and I decided to find another way. After searching the north side, I still could not find a way up to the true top. Still had a great time exploring this area.
