| no partners | | Had a friend break both his feet 9 months ago and he was finally able to get out again so we spent the weekend riding and hiking on the rim. Didnt start out too good as I got stuck in a 2 1/2 hours traffic delay due to fire on side of the 87. Saturday, the dog and us hiked from our camp northwest of the powerlines and made our way cross country down to the lake. Not too much of a nature stroll, as the entire place up there was absolutely packed. I mean camps on camps on camps, kids riding ATVs all over with no helmets on, trash everywhere.. I have never seen anything like it. Camping on the rim on a holiday weekend - Check.. The path was easy to follow as it went up and down up and down about 5 feet at a time all the way around. Once we got further to the east side of the lake, the people thinned out a bit and we found a small beach area to hang out on a while. The water felt great to swim in after the short hike and there was plenty of entertainment with the all the kayakers and wannabe paddle boarders out there. Its all about that TECHNIQUE! |
