This may be one of my new favorite canyons in the state after this trip and I still have so much of it to see!
It may sound harsh but usually I literally hate encountering others when I'm out hiking but in this case I for once did not mind because of who they were and the surreal situation of how we all met!
I was sitting at the bottom of a 125 foot monster seasonal waterfall and to my complete surprise I heard a faint whistle, I looked around and didn't see anyone but then I looked up and at the top of the waterfall was a small group of brave canyoneers!
I snapped some cool photos and videos of them while they were rappelling down and found myself deeply intrigued of the whole entire process because of how fun and easy they made it look!
They were all very kind well experienced outdoorsmen that were just as surprised to see me down in that rugged gorge as I was to see them and seemed to be very grateful for the photos I took of them.

The lead of thier group Jay mentioned to me how he has descended this canyon seven times over the course of many decades but this was the most flow he has ever seen he has ever seen which just added to the already estatic feeling I had going on.
We exchanged info and the fearless group ventured on to the lower narrows and I stayed for some proper tripod time to document a small portion of the treasures that reside in this canyon.
The rest of the hike was under the guidance of a headlamp like usual but this time a few miles away and a thousand feet below me I could clearly see the headlights of the canyoneers who were boulder hopping thier way downstream after a long full descent of a hypothermic and physically demanding canyon.
I've always wanted to take the leap, grow a pair and finally do some technical canyoneering and with the recent inspiration and the new contacts I believe this may finally be the year!
Incredible day exploring and experiencing rare conditions in a very special place!
