A satisfying and fun day inside Rattlesnake Canyon.
Getting to the falls is a cakewalk, but getting to the base of them is a whole other story.
I'm no stranger to an arduous off trail bush-wack, as a matter of fact I enjoy them most of the time but this was straight up "stupid" in the words of Joel Hazelton. :sweat:

He was absolutely right, not only do you have to fight the dense scrub oak wanting to push you off the edge of the cliff but also climb up a steep loose incline simultaneously, needless to say I was very relieved to finally find a small notch in the cliff edge to drop down from and finally get down to the base of the falls.

It sprinkled periodically pretty much the whole time we were taking photos and only at some points really started to produce a steady rainfall.

I was nice and cozy with extra dry layers the whole time but that soon went out the window when we had to hike back up to the top of the falls.

Not only was the loose precarious clifside slope completely saturated with water making it nearly impossible to climb out of but the dense vegetation was drenched with fresh winter rain which basically got me soaked from head to toe as if decided to go swimming.

In the end I would do it all over again because I just downright love a day outside that involves seasonal waterfalls and a little bit of adventure.

	Signicfancnt drop since Wednesdays visit but still flowing steady at 2.70ft and around 80cfs. After nearly 5 hours of rain I checked the gage level once more before we left and it rose from 2.70 to 2.90, RS Canyon is surprisingly large and has a huge watershed, bottom line is this place really fills up with some serious water after big winter storms.
