| no partners | | I had seen this on one of Hansenaz's posts and was intrigued by the size of the fort, since it was visible on GE. Recently we've
been working with the Amerind Museum and in conversations with their curator Eric Kaldahl I mentioned and showed him photos of "forts" that seemed to be over built. I asked him the theory behind this and he said it was a show of strength and size of community. Kind of like a modern military parade. These are examples of "forts" [ photoset ]

So my theory is what are they guarding, since the two examples above are tied to major sites. So where is it? I find it interesting that the wall faces the Verde Valley where there are many communities and this wall can be seen for miles. Something up Black Mountain Canyon? |
